Wood-plastic compatibilizers have technical advantages in improving material properties, such as promoting phase dispersion, enhancing interfacial adhesion, and optimizing material stability, which help wood-plastic materials better meet market demands.


Promoting Phase Dispersion: 

Referring to the principle that compatibilizers in engineering plastic alloys can reduce the surface tension between two polymers and promote phase dispersion, wood-plastic compatibilizers may also be able to reduce the surface tension between PE or PP and wood chips. In this way, wood chips can be more evenly dispersed in the PE or PP matrix, avoiding agglomeration and thus improving the overall performance and appearance quality of wood-plastic materials.


Enhancing interfacial adhesion: 

Compatibilizers for engineering plastics can increase the thickness of the interfacial layer and enhance the interfacial adhesion between phases. Wood-plastic compatibilizers may also possess similar functions. Certain groups in their molecular structure can chemically bond with or form strong physical interactions with PE or PP, as well as the surface of wood chips, effectively enhancing the interfacial adhesion between organic polymers and wood fibers. This improves the mechanical properties of wood-plastic materials, such as tensile strength and bending strength.


Optimizing material stability: 

Similar to engineering plastic alloy compatibilizers, which can reduce the particle size of the dispersed phase and form a stable phase structure, wood-plastic compatibilizers may be able to refine the dispersed particle size of wood chips in the polymer matrix, forming a stable phase structure and enhancing the dimensional stability, weather resistance, and other properties of wood-plastic materials. This can reduce issues such as deformation and aging caused by environmental factors during the use of wood-plastic products, thereby extending the product's service life.
