This series of products are compatibilizers based on polyolefins or elastomers graft-modified with maleic anhydride (MAH), epoxy functional groups, or other polar monomers, specifically designed for polyamide (PA) and glass fiber (GF) reinforced composite systems. By optimizing interfacial interactions, they significantly enhance the compatibility of PA and GF, thereby improving the mechanical properties, processing stability, and long-term durability of the alloy.
Mechanism of action and performance advantages:
1. Interface bonding enhancement
The polar functional groups (such as MAH and epoxy groups) in the compatibilizer undergo chemical reactions with the amino or carboxyl groups at the ends of the PA molecular chains, forming covalent bonds. Meanwhile, its non-polar segments bind to the coupling agents (such as silanes) on the surface of GF through molecular entanglement or van der Waals forces, constructing a robust "PA-compatibilizer-GF" interfacial bridge.
This mechanism effectively reduces interfacial defects, avoids fiber delamination caused by stress concentration, and enhances the impact strength and tensile properties of the material.
2. Optimization of dispersibility and processability
The compatibilizer can reduce the tendency of GF to agglomerate, promote its uniform dispersion in the PA matrix, reduce local uneven stress, and improve the dimensional stability of the product.
By improving the melt flowability, reducing fiber breakage during extrusion or injection molding, and maintaining the aspect ratio of GF, the reinforcement effect can be further enhanced.
3. Improvement in comprehensive performance
Mechanical properties: It significantly enhances tensile strength, flexural modulus, and notch impact strength, particularly improving low-temperature toughness.
Thermal stability: Delays the thermal degradation of the PA matrix at high temperatures and reduces interfacial cracking caused by the difference in thermal expansion coefficients between GF and PA.
Appearance and durability: Reduce the phenomenon of floating fibers on the surface of the product, improve surface smoothness; simultaneously inhibit moisture penetration (GF is prone to moisture absorption), and delay the hydrolysis and aging of PA.
Application Scenario:
Suitable for engineering plastic alloys such as PA6/GF and PA66/GF, widely used in:
Automotive components (intake manifold, door handle, electronic connector)
Electronic appliances (circuit breakers, heat dissipation housings)
Industrial equipment (gears, bearings, structural components)
Product Features:
Efficient interface modification: The synergistic effect of chemical bonding and physical adsorption enhances the interfacial bonding strength by over 30%.
Broad spectrum applicability: compatible with various PA resins (including high-temperature PA and long-chain PA) and systems with different GF contents (10% to 50%).
Environmentally friendly and process-friendly: Halogen-free formula, compatible with existing extrusion and injection molding processes, no additional equipment modification required.
The PA/GF alloy modified by this compatibilizer maintains high rigidity and heat resistance while exhibiting excellent toughness and processability. It can replace metal or pure engineering plastics, achieving the dual goals of lightweight and cost optimization.
